Hello! My name is Rūta and I am training to be a paintings conservator. I completed my undergraduate studies at the Academy of Arts in Vilnius where I obtained my biggest part of the knowledge of the discipline. Before that, I studied nano-chemistry for one year - this scientific background proved to be useful for many of my conservation/restoration tasks. During my restoration studies, I did an exchange semester at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. There I was fortunate to be introduced to innovative techniques and theoretical insights.
I feel happy to have found myself in the field of conservation/restoration, where art and research meet. Both creative and precise, it allows me to reveal various sides of me as well as brings meaning with every new artwork I am working with.
Currently, I am looking for new thrilling practice opportunities, which would help me to further develop my skills.
